Building the First Kairos Timing Window Scaffold
The first public note on separating aspect primitives, symbolic tags, scoring, and timing-window candidates before any prose layer is added.
This research note is part of Skywatch Lab, a computational astrology project exploring symbolic timing, interpretability, and explainable astrological systems.
The question
The first Skywatch Lab scaffold asks a modest question: what is the smallest deterministic structure that can move from transit events to timing-window candidates without hiding the reasoning?
The answer starts with separation. Astronomical primitives, symbolic tags, scoring, and language should not be tangled together too early.
The scaffold
The initial architecture separates aspect detection from symbolic meaning. One layer can describe degrees, orbs, dates, and aspect types. Another layer can describe themes, tone, and practical categories.
A later scoring layer can then ask which events are stronger, closer, more repeated, or more relevant to a life area. That keeps the method inspectable.
Why prose waits
Generated prose can make a weak structure sound more complete than it is. Skywatch Lab keeps language last so the system has to earn its interpretation through visible structure first.
Before a paragraph is written, the window should already have a reason to exist. It should have events, dates, scores, and a plain explanation of why it surfaced.
What was intentionally left out
The first scaffold does not include customer data, private reports, live product scoring changes, or production interpretation copy.
It also does not claim astrological accuracy yet. The first goal is reviewability: can the system show its work clearly enough that later experiments can improve it?
The next experiment
The next step is a tiny fixture with a few natal points and a short date range. The fixture should produce timing-window candidates that can be read, challenged, and revised.
The purpose is not to make the system impressive. It is to expose where the boundaries need to be sharper before more complexity is added.
